Clean dishes without detergent

Medeco Cleantec GmbH set itself the goal of uncompromising cleanliness without the use of any chemical agents many years ago and developed the Green Cleaning Concept. The idea: instead of using conventional cleaning agents, compact micro-dry steam devices perform cleaning and disinfection in one, enabling hygienic cleanliness using only water. Medeco has now transferred the advantages of green cleaning - sustainability, health protection for employees and cost savings - to the area of dishwashing and developed an innovative hot steam dishwasher in collaboration with the Technical Universities of Munich and Dortmund.

"The prototype of our hot steam dishwasher has undergone numerous tests since the start of development and is now ready to conquer the market for commercial dishwashers," says Fritz Pattis, Managing Director of Medeco Cleantec GmbH. Together with the design experts from Herion Engineering in Bavaria, he has realized his idea of a Green Cleaning dishwasher and has also been able to win over the Technical Universities of Munich and Dortmund as cooperation partners. "Just as with the use of very hot and very dry steam for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, the use of micro-dry steam is a real game changer when it comes to dishwashers," explains Fritz Pattis. "Normal dishwashers use both salt and dishwasher tabs, but the temperatures of up to 70°C are not necessarily enough to eliminate various harmful bacteria. Superheated steam, on the other hand, reaches up to 180°C and cleans more thoroughly, faster and therefore more efficiently." At the same time, the high temperature ensures that even heat-resistant bacteria can be killed in a matter of seconds, which is a huge advantage, especially for use in the healthcare and catering sectors.

Fewer chemicals - lower costs

In addition to the aspects of cleanliness and hygiene, the hot steam variant also has major advantages in terms of sustainability, health and budget. "The use of micro dry steam eliminates the need for chemical detergents and reduces water and energy consumption. This makes a significant contribution to environmental protection and saves a considerable amount of money at the same time. What's more, dispensing with chemicals also benefits employees, guests and patients, as every cleaning agent leaves residues on plates, glasses and cutlery."

Ideal for commercial kitchens and health care facilities

Medeco's Green Cleaning Concept is increasingly replacing conventional cleaning processes, particularly in the hotel and catering industry, but also in the healthcare sector, and contributes to a standard of cleanliness without compromises, which could be further enhanced by using a Green Cleaning dishwasher. "Dishwashing using micro dry steam would be ideal, especially for canteen kitchens in large hotels or restaurants as well as for hospitals or care facilities. Not only because it is faster and cheaper, but above all because it achieves optimum hygienic results. Without chemical residues, which can even affect the taste of the food served or be a breeding ground for germs," emphasizes Fritz Pattis. The next step for the inventor of the Green Cleaning Concept is to find suitable industrial partners to launch the chemical-free dishwasher on the market.
