The 4-star hotel in Blankenburg (Harz) has changed its cleaning concept to an environmentally and health-friendly disinfection of rooms and public areas. The use of micro steam devices from Medeco ensures ecological and efficient cleaning without the use of chemicals.
Providing guests with a sustainable and healthy stay in the Harz Mountains is the top priority of the Schlosshotel Blankenburg. To this end, the renowned hotel has relied on a holistic sustainability concept for many years, which has been certified by the GreenSign Institute. Regionality, green electricity, avoiding plastic, e-charging columns, tree planting campaigns and other sustainable measures have long been implemented and made tangible at Schlosshotel Blankenburg. With the investment in Medeco Cleantec micro dry steam appliances, new standards are now being set in terms of the health of guests and employees.
In this high-tech cleaning process, normal tap water is atomized into micro dry steam at 190 degrees and 9 bar pressure. This penetrates the smallest microstructures and creates germ and virus-free surfaces without leaving any moisture behind. In fact, it is possible to clean all areas, from the kitchen and rooms to the wellness area, exclusively with micro dry steam, which is even extremely water-saving. The micro dry steam appliances can also be used for carpets, upholstery, curtains, TV sets and heaters. Independent experts confirm that this method reduces germs by over 99.99 percent on all surfaces.

The Green CleaningConcept® from Medeco Cleantec, which was taught to staff at the Schlosshotel Blankenburg during a personal training course lasting several days at the end of last year, shows that professional cleaning can also be carried out without the use of chemicals. The new techniques enable the housekeeping team to clean efficiently, save time and make cleaning less strenuous, as well as ensuring virtually germ-free cleaning without toxic gases or liquids.
